We hope everyone is healthy and safe.  We want to take this opportunity to pass along information about this year's boys travel basketball season.  Many of the gym facilities that are normally available for travel basketball teams will not be available this upcoming season.  Also, there are several teams that unfortunately will not be participating this season.  With this knowledge,  we would like to gauge how many interested participants we have so that we can proceed accordingly.

The FCBL’s plan for 2020-21 is currently as follows:  They will host a regular season (10 assigned games) for our regular season standings.  If gym space is limited more than expected, there is a possibility that the number may be reduced to 8.  There will be no league postseason tournament.  The regular season current registration deadline is October 31st.  The league has informed us that this date may be pushed back, which would make the regular season run 2 weeks later through March 7th.  The two tournaments we participate in, Milford Knights Basketball League and our Connecticut Hoopfest events, have announced that they have reached a partnership with InSports in Trumbull to host the 2020/2021 Hoopfest Tournament Series.  There will be more information soon to come.

Our current plan is to host a tryout the week of October 26th,  location and time TBD.  Each team would practice twice a week. Depending on how many teams we host and the availability with our schools, there may be a possibility that practices and/or games will be held in Seymour or Bridgeport as well.  Our number one priority is the safety of our participants and their families. Temperature checks and self screening protocols will be a part of our program. Depending on where a practice or game is held, we would have to follow all that facility's regulations.  In many cases, parents may not be allowed inside the gym during practice and games.  You would also have to make arrangements to follow the drop off/pickup requirements for that venue and event as well.

At this time we would like to know if your child is interested in this winter's program. Please feel free to also share this information with other families that you know may be interested as well.  Your response to this email will better help us to determine what this 2020-2021 season will look like.
